Jim Brandstatter, former Michigan Wolverine and current Lions color commentator called in to preview tonight’s “Great Lakes Classic.” Kiley and Booms asked Jim about the weaknesses on the Lions’ defensive side of the ball, but Jim remained confident in his team’s offensive firepower with its passing game and said the Lions don’t have to run inside to move the football. Kiley and Jim argued about the philosophy of the running game as being the base for an offense compared to the New England Patriots pass-first, spread strategy. Jim talked about the depth of the Lions and was asked to project starters and said no team in the NFL has every position locked up yet.
